Welcome to the Friday, January 20th, Studio Vos Friday Real Estate Photos of the Week (#StudioVosPOTW)! In these trying times I'm reminded of the Realtor's Prayer: “Dear Lord, all I ask is that you prove to me that money won’t make me happier by tripling my GCI this year.” Amen 🙏!
By now, you've probably heard of the latest political culture war affecting the real estate market, "gas gate." While it's true there is a link between asthma in children and homes with gas powered stoves, those same houses are fetching 6% more value on average than their electric counterparts (because 70% of future home buyers say they want natural gas fueled appliances). Is this a silly wedge issue or something more? Where do you stand? Comment below.
Today's pictures are from 1508 Indiana St in Montrose's Hyde Park, 3905 Centre Plains Way in Spring Branch North, and 2220 Todville Rd in Seabrook (just north of Kemah). They were listed by Anastasia Carter, Conley Norris, and Oscar Hernandez, respectively.
#1-4 from the Montrose House. Far from a ranch house, this is like a little slice of Galveston in Houston. Would you believe this was shot at 10am? You will after you view our top-secret behind-the-scenes photo (below this one).

*Bonus before shot so you can see how we made the above so attractive. First, we digitally added in the grass. You can still see the rakes in the bottom left where the landscapers still need to finish before open house. Then, we use computer magic to turn all the front porch lights on. Finally, the sky is recreated at dusk and all the lights/shadows are adjusted so the effect is extremely realistic.

#2 Putting those vaulted ceilings to good use with this built-in bookcase. Feeling inspired to build one at your house? PS the fire and recessed lights were digitally constructed. If there's a fireplace or sockets where lights should obviously be then we never publish an image without them -- it's the finishing touch that separates "premium" real estate photography from the rest.

#3 Montrose... with a hint of zen. I'm impressed with how our photographer captured this angle so that the location of the master bedroom is an instantly recognizable spot in the home. Can you do that?

#4 Quiz time. No hints! Did the homeowner: A) pay someone to come clean every glass surface just before our arrival? B) Did we do it with computer wizardry? C) Or do they simply live with obsessive compulsive perfectionism? Drop your answer as a comment.

*Bonus shot of the shower/tub combo, because, it's worth it. How is our photographer getting this angle without their reflection being seen?!

#5-6 from Spring Branch North. If you love cooking (I do!) then this kitchen looks awful dreamy. It's not every day that you see an island worthy of food prep. Can you spot the wine chiller hiding on the west side?

#6 A nook! I mean, come on, doesn't everyone want a cozy hiding space/coat rack/reading spot/shoe storage? The fact that it has overhead lighting tells me the designers really knew the worth of what they were building.

#7-13 are all from the McMansion in Seabrook. Are you feeling immediate jealousy? Yeahhhhh, me too. I want an extensive underground garage, 14 foot high matching rain chain chimes, and bronze flamingos. Not pictured: the interior elevator.

#8 If I were a high school girl in the early 90's, this is the exact staircase I would have pictured meeting my mum bearing prom date at the bottom of. Teary eyed father optional. The combined metal work, decorative finials, dual chandeliers, and polished oak, is pulled off perfectly.

#9 Two (2!) kitchen island pics in 1 day? Is he crazy?! Maybe, but in my opinion it has nothing to do with anything. Now shhhhh and admire the artwork.

#10 Fireplace + ocean (gulf) view from your bedroom? Sign me up! Imagine enjoying those built-in ceiling speakers, fire on, browsing Instagram, while rain drops safely from the sky outside.

#11 A water view from the hot tub? Yes, please. Fingers crossed the floor is heated because I would be in here until the bath gets cold.

#12 Is it a living room? Den? Naw, just a closet big enough to function as a meeting hall.

#13 The perfect way to end a post... err, evening. Realtors: look up the word lanais and how to pronounce it.

Thanks for making it to the end!
